About Department
The department of Geography was established in June 1986. The aim of department is to prepare students to make career in Map Making, Weather Forecasting, GIS and Remote Sensing, Surveying, Tourist Guide, Plotting, Field Survey, Cartography. The Department has been conducting the course, ‘IDS’ (Geography in Tourism) for B.A. II since 1990.The department regularly organizes activities viz. Essay and Article Writing, Elocution, Debate Competitions and Field Visit for better understanding of the subject. The faculty is well qualified and experienced in Teaching and Research.
Objectives
- To Develop curiosity among the students about geographical elements
- To develop research activities among the students
- To adopt new techniques and methods in study.
- To enable students to utilize geographical knowledge in the development of social, economic, political, educational and cultural development of our country
- To make the students Environmental Ambassadors of the world
